Dr. Eudri Venter will present "A new direction for general purpose TEMs from JEOL, introducing the highly customisable JEM-120i".

Abstract:

Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM) with a 120kV accelerating voltage range has been widely seen as a fundamental research tool in many disciples, including soft materials research such as biology and polymer research.  JEOL has recently released a new general purpose 120kV TEM, named the JEM-120i.  This instrument is a comprehensive evolution of the previous generation, showcasing a variety of improvements tailored to the new generation of electron microscopists.  This presentation will focus on expanding how the enhanced level of automation, customisability and user friendliness allows this TEM to be a useful tool for every user.
