SEELIFE Open Call for User Access Funding


The MultiModal Molecular Imaging Italian Node and the Advanced Light Microscopy (ALM) Italian Node are launching a call for user access funding under the SEELIFE project (PNRR – NextGenerationEU - Progetto “StrEngthEning the ItaLIan InFrastructure of Euro-bioimaging – SEE LIFE” IR0000023, CUP 24C660A8, financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research). This initiative aims to foster international collaboration by providing free-of-charge access to cutting-edge imaging technologies for biomedical, pharmaceutical, and life science research.

Available Budget and Facilities

The total available budget is €280.600,00 covering user access to the facilities included in the Nodes, as detailed below:

Eligibility and Application Process

This call supports both national and trans-national access, for both academic and industrial users.

Who Can Apply?

  • Individual researchers or teams from academia, business, industry, and public services.
  • Teams may include researchers, doctoral candidates, technical staff, and students participating in research as part of their studies.

How to Apply?

  • Access requests must be submitted via the Euro-BioImaging web portal to the relevant facilities.
  • Applicants seeking funding from the SEELIFE project must indicate this in their user access application form on the Euro-BioImaging portal, specifying the facility they wish to access.
  • Applications will be continuously received and evaluated until September 15, 2025.

Grant Assignment and Access Conditions

  • Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to available budget.
  • Applications must successfully pass both scientific and technical evaluations according to the Euro-BioImaging user access procedure and receive final approval by the SEELIFE Technical and Scientific Committee.
  • User access must be completed by October 31, 2025.
  • The grants will cover facility usage fees, calculated based on the project proposal, considering the required resources and the facility’s cost per day of access for the project duration.

Administrative and Contact Information

The administrative management of the funds will be handled at the Node level. The granted users will not have to pay for the services.
