Proud to announce the appointment of Euro-BioImaging’s Scientific Advisory Board

July 29, 2020
Governance SAB

In November 2019, the European Commission officially established Euro-BioImaging – which provides life scientists with open access to a broad range of technologies and resources in biological and biomedical imaging – as a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC). As stipulated by the statutes published in the Official Journal of the European Union, Euro-BioImaging ERIC’s governance includes a Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), whose role is to oversee the scientific, ethical, technical and management quality of the Euro-BioImaging ERIC activities. We are pleased to announce that our SAB - composed of world-renowned, independent scientists, professors, and facility managers - has been appointed and has met twice in July 2020.

The Euro-BioImaging SAB is composed of highly-qualified, internationally recognized scientific, ethical and technical experts selected on the basis of their competence in all aspects of the activities of the Euro-BioImaging ERIC. The impressive backgrounds of the SAB, their contribution to fundamental research and applied innovations in both biological and biomedical fields, as well as the broad range of expertise they represent will ensure the continued scientific, ethical and technical excellence of Euro-BioImaging research infrastructure.

The SAB met twice in July and a Chairman and Co-Chairman were selected during these first meetings. Beyond operational organization, one of the SAB’s first tasks will be to evaluate the applications received in the recent Call for Nodes and decide which facilities will join the Euro-BioImaging infrastructure in the coming months.

We are pleased to welcome these dedicated scientists, professors and facility managers to Euro-BioImaging!

Meet our SAB team
