Contribute to the “Inner Cosmos” art project
Inner Cosmos is an art project by Euro-BioImaging aimed at reaching the general public. The video has been designed as part of an installation to be exhibited at “art meets science” events or science events on a giant screen. The installation consists of a video featuring images from inside the human body, a soundtrack, and a poster that explains each image featured with a caption and the name and affiliation of its creator. The current version of the video is visible here, and the concept is explained here.
We want to include new images in the video and are looking for your contributors. We are looking for images and movies from inside the human body or with human cells, from all different imaging modalities from EM, light microscopy and medical imaging. The images should visually appeal to a non-specialised audience and generate curiosity, awe, and interest. We already have many cancer-related images and are primarily interested in gathering other samples, such as images and movies of non-cancerous human cells, medial images of organs, organoids, or parasites within the human body.
All contributors will be credited to the film, and all images will be attributed to the poster part of the installation. Sharing your images for that project is not exclusive and doesn’t lock you out from using these images in publications, sharing with other organisations, or in image contests.
Here is a little recap of what we are looking for:
- films/animations from inside of the human body (no plants, animals, insects) or human cells, tissue or organoids in culture
- any topic, but we would privilege non-cancer-related assets
- 2D and 3D films or animations, including time-lapse images or 3D stacks
- you can send us a still 2D image if you have something you are particularly proud to share
- we need the assets to have a black background or no background
- the assets can be in colour or in greyscale
- deadline to provide the images: we are accepting assets on a continuous, rolling basis.
If you potentially have images to share, please reach out to Johanna Bischof (johanna.bischof@eurobioimaging.eu) and/or Laurent Chmiel (laurent.chmiel@eurobioimaging.eu).
