Services for EIC beneficiaries
Euro-BioImaging provides services for EIC beneficiaries and Seal of Excellence holder
Euro-BioImaging ERIC, as the European Research Infrastructure for biological and biomedical imaging technologies, provides access to cutting-edge imaging technologies and consultancy services to accelerate your research, development and innovation (RDI). These services enable companies to leverage world-class imaging facilities and know-how to enhance competitiveness and innovation capacity.
Our services are available for all EIC beneficiaries from
- EIC pathfinder (TRL1 - 3)
- EIC Transition (TRL 4 - 6)
- EIC Accelerator (TRL7 and above)
and Seal of Excellence holders.
Services can be accessed directly through the EIC service catalogue.
The EIC Access+ Project offers financial support of up to €60K to EIC Awardees and Seal of Excellence holders. Through a continuous call for applications, a number of 180 companies will be selected to receive a grant to reimburse the costs supported by accessing the EIC Service Catalogue. The grants will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis, following a thorough eligibility check of the applications. Euro-BioImaging are eligible services under these scheme.
Two services for innovation
Consultancy service for imaging technologies and image data
Our professional consultancy service covers various imaging-related topics including imaging modalities, instrumentation, applications, latest technology developments, image data access and analysis, ML and AI tools, and training opportunities in imaging.
This consultancy service is delivered by technical experts from our two Hubs for biological or biomedical imaging, alongside experts from our extensive European network of imaging specialists.
The service is aimed at researchers, developers, and innovators involved in biological or biomedical research, diagnostics, drug discovery, or biomaterials development. By utilising Euro-BioImaging’s services, EIC beneficiaries will gain valuable insights into optimising bioimaging techniques to advance their research or product development.
We offer two types of consultancy services:
- A complimentary 1-hour video consultation with technical experts to identify Euro-BioImaging’s imaging services and expert know-how that can empower beneficiaries’ RDI activities. This initial consultation includes a needs assessment and will deliver tailored recommendations for suitable imaging technologies, imaging service facilities, matching with experts, and an overview of the European (and if of interest global) imaging landscape in the relevant area(s).
- Detailed technical consultations with selected experts, either as standalone consultation or in preparation for access to services, e.g. additional technical feasibility assessments, project development, regulatory and contractual support, training. This service is available both online and on-site, ensuring flexibility and accessibility, and is chargeable by the hour.
Access to imaging technologies
We offer physical and/or mail-in access (depending on imaging modality and sample type) to a large portfolio of more than 120 cutting-edge imaging technologies across all scales from atomic resolution to imaging of whole organisms including human imaging. Examples are light microscopy (e.g., super-resolution, confocal, light-sheet); electron microscopy (cryo-ET and volumeEM); MassSpec Imaging and spatial transcriptomics; and medical imaging (e.g., MRI, PET, CT) for preclinical and clinical applications. Details of all available technologies can be found on our website.
Our services are tailored to the beneficiary’s RDI activities and can include physical access to instruments, assay development, sample preparation, access to wet labs, cell culture and animal facilities, probe synthesis, access to data sets, image data analysis service and project design.
Services include support from expert imaging scientists at the facilities, including for sample preparation and support for performing the experiments. On a case-by-case basis, services may also be provided as a full-service package with facility staff performing the final sample preparation and imaging on behalf of the customers and delivering final datasets.
Examples of specific services include, but are not limited to:
- High-throughput microscopy for large-scale screening projects
- Correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM) for multi-scale imaging
- Cryo-Electron Tomography for in situ structure determination
- Advanced fluorescence techniques (FRAP, FRET, FCS) for molecular dynamics studies
- Intravital microscopy for in vivo imaging
- Tracer synthesis and PET imaging for nuclear medicine
- Plant Phenotyping
- Mass-Spectrometry based Imaging
- Spatial Transcriptomics
Duration and pricing of the service can vary depending on beneficiaries’ specific service requirements.
